Location unavailable Error in Windows 10

Whenever the Microsoft launches new updates for the Windows computers, there is always new issues that are reported. Withe the new 1803 Upgrade also there has been lots of issues that have been reported. Here lets discuss about the Desktop unavailable, after the Windows 1803 Upgrade.

The error message that the Windows throws is
"C:\WINDOWS\System32\config\systemProfile\desktop is unavailable".
The main reason for the error to be occurred on the computer is that if the Upgrade is not able to initialize the core components that would be used in the Explorer.

Since the core files have not been registered, here are few things that may be of handy, and may be helpful.
  • Start the task manager by pressing the CTRL + SHIFT + ESC.
  • Once the task manager is open, go to File and select "Run New Task"(Make sure to Run in Admin Mode)
  • Type CMD and press OK.
  • Once the CMD Opens up, type the following commands to create new account.
net user /add [username] [password]
net localgroup administrators [username] /add

Once the account has been added, Restart the computer again, and this time login to the new account, from the login screen.

This should ideally fix the issue, however if in case if the issue still persist, then you have the last option to perform, and is the Re installation of the Operating System.
